Privacy Policy
Effective October 2026. SellSideTrades, Princeton, Texas. Questions: armando@sellsidetrades.com.
1. What we collect
Contact details you give us: name, company, email, phone, state, timeline, buyer type, and acquisition criteria.
Financial documents and figures you upload or type on the valuation page: tax returns, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and the revenue, earnings, add back, and balance sheet figures we extract from them.
Electronic signature records when you accept the Seller Listing Agreement or Buyer Agreement: the name you typed, date and time, IP address, browser information, the agreement version, and the fee terms in force at signing.
Payment information for buyer memberships is collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We receive your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and payment status, never your full card number.
Usage data such as pages visited and form interactions, through standard web server logs and, if enabled, analytics cookies.
2. How we use it
To compute your valuation snapshot; to build a blind listing and present it to buyers according to the visibility you chose; to verify buyers and introduce them to sellers; to record and enforce the agreements you sign; to bill and manage memberships; to send you copies of agreements, listing alerts, and messages about your transaction; and to keep the site secure.
3. Automated document reading
When you upload a financial document we send it to an AI model operated by Anthropic to extract line items such as revenue, officer compensation, interest, depreciation, and discretionary expenses. Anthropic processes the document to return those figures and does not use API inputs to train its models. The figures are reviewed by a person before any listing is published.
4. Who sees your information
Sellers: your name, company name, and contact details are never shown to buyers unless you separately authorize direct contact. Buyers who have paid for membership and signed the Buyer Agreement see your blind listing, financial summary, and asking price. If you chose the public teaser option, a blind summary with ranges only also appears on our public site.
Buyers: your identity and criteria are shared with a seller only when you request an introduction to that seller's business.
Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract: Netlify (hosting and encrypted storage), Anthropic (document extraction), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Google (calendar booking). We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers.
5. Storage, security, and retention
Documents and records are transmitted over TLS and stored encrypted at rest in private storage that is not publicly addressable. Access is limited to SellSideTrades staff with a private administrative credential.
Uploaded documents are deleted automatically 60 days after upload. If you are in an active sale process we may keep them longer with your consent, and delete them when the process ends. Contact details, extracted figures, listing records, signature records, and membership records are kept for as long as needed to operate the marketplace and to enforce agreements, which for signed agreements means at least the length of the obligations in them plus the applicable limitations period.
6. Your choices
Email us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to withdraw a listing, to change your visibility choice, or to ask us to delete an uploaded document before the 60 day period. Signature records and records needed to enforce a signed agreement or to meet legal obligations may be retained. Buyers can cancel membership at any time through the link in their Stripe receipt or by emailing us.
Residents of states with privacy laws (including Texas and California) may exercise access, correction, deletion, and portability rights by emailing us. We do not discriminate for exercising those rights.
7. Cookies
We set a signed, HTTP only cookie so buyers stay logged in to the marketplace. If analytics are enabled, those tools set their own cookies, which you can block in your browser without affecting the site's core functions.
8. Children
Our services are for business owners and acquirers and are not directed to anyone under 18.
9. Changes
We will post updates here with a new effective date. Material changes affecting documents you already uploaded will be emailed to you.
